September 9th, 1968

On September 9th, 1968, the Janesville Bible Baptist Temple (now Oakhill Christian Church) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the future establishment of a Christian day school.The church sold $210,000 in bonds to finance the new building.The building was dedicated in the fall of 1971.

Fall of 1972

In the fall of 1972, Oakhill Christian School was organized including K4 and K5 kindergarten classes.Mrs. Yeager served as the teacher.Grades 1-4 were added in 1973, grades 5-8 in 1974, and the high school in 1975.Four seniors graduated in 1976.

first student to complete all 13 grades

In 1985, Lisa Amerson became the first student to complete all 13 grades at Oakhill.Since its opening, OCS has operated athletic programs that resulted in multiple basketball and volleyball state championships

Graduates of the school have gone on to attend UW schools, West Point, Moody Bible Institute, Pensacola Christian, Arizona State, Maranatha Baptist and many other accredited colleges.

OCS alumni can be found working in ministry, healthcare, law, engineering, skilled trades, education, and business fields.
